I decided to become a freelance writer when, after surviving financial disaster in 2008 and then recovering from a natural disaster (Hurricane Florence) in 2018, I found employment difficult to come by after hitting that “senior citizen” milestone. Doesn’t matter how many people tell me that companies don’t discriminate because of your age. It’s hogwash! It was time to reinvent myself, so here I am, doing something that I always wanted to do. If not now, when?
I hope to write well enough to inspire and help people, whether it be through travel, eating or just plain connecting. Don’t we all need a little more of that right now, especially during this pandemic? So come along with me on my journey, particularly you, my fellow senior citizens. We still have a lot more living to do!
