A breakfast to die for…

If you love to go out for breakfast, I’ve got the perfect place and I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Baker’s Kitchen, here in downtown New Bern, is really the place to go for a totally satisfying breakfast. Every. Single. Time. They not only serve outstanding breakfasts, their lunches are wonderful and their mouth-watering bakery selections are available to take out. Trip Advisor Traveler Rating gives them a 4.5 out of 5!

In addition to the food, the old building adds to the ambiance. It is on Middle Street in the heart of Historic Downtown New Bern. Baker’s Kitchen is housed in a beautiful, antique brick building constructed in 1924. They have retained many old features and interior brick walls. It also doesn’t hurt that the restaurant is only a block from the Riverwalk, should you need to walk off some of the calories afterwards.

They do not take reservations for small parties on the weekends, but for convenience, you can get your name on the waiting list for a table before you leave your house using the NOWAIT app. All the waitstaff is great, but Rick is our favorite.

…but back to the breakfast! I am not typically a “sausage” person, but I tried a bite of hubby’s breakfast sausage and was hooked. Baker’s Kitchen sources their sausage from a farm in western North Carolina, so they are fresh and oh so tasty! The cheese biscuits are HUGE, filling and wonderful. Did I mention HUGE?  The Dutch Potatoes are warm, cheesy goodness and you HAVE to try their signature, homemade Butter Syrup….I am getting hungry just thinking about it. It also doesn’t hurt that they make a great cup of coffee! And all of their pies and pastries are made fresh daily in their kitchen. (…and they do catering!)

Bring your appetite and your sneakers for a stroll on Riverwalk afterwards.
